Container from France has arrived!
CONTAINER DAY
Today is an exciting day! Crown and Colony has been unpacking the latest antiques shipment and transforming the shops with treasures from abroad. By Monday morning we will have everything new and exciting and wonderful on the floors at Crown and Colony, Aubergine and RF Antique Shops in Fairhope, AL — All the shops are within walking distance to each other — such an advantage for our customers!
The owners of these three shops, Ann and Peter Fargason, travel to France on multiple buying trips throughout the year to curate a collection of special finds and antiques to bring back home to the retail shops. The trip always begins with a train ride to some wonderful antique show or village.

And, the eating of French cuisine was, as usual, a special treat. Below, Ann and Peter about to order lunch at one of their favorite and charming French cafes.

The buying process is a complex and involved endeavor that Peter and Ann have fine tuned through the years.
When scouring markets and antique shows these two know how to use their keen eye from years of experience to spy treasures –they know for sure what will delight the customer. These chairs were a special find!
During any given trip, they will travel to numerous cities and countless vendors daily. After over 30 years of buying trips to France and beyond, Peter and Ann have formed precious relationships with vendors and locals of the places they visit. The buying process is a never ending one, but an indelible one that is obviously loved and enjoyed so much. This hard work is made to look effortless — a sign of true and seasoned professionals.
While in Europe the Fargasons are lucky enough to enjoy the local scenery.
Their many trips and travels allow them to have a culmination of timeless and invaluable furniture and accessories selections that are each handpicked. By frequently visiting France and beyond, the merchandise they choose is always revolving and very special.
